The Young Biologists Association from Armenia is working to establish its Conservation and Biodiversity Research Group consisting of young conservationists. These will contribute significantly to assessing the state of the rich Armenian biodiversity and to identifying the best approaches for its conservation. The NGO also promotes a “green lifestyle” and organizes various events to raise public awareness of issues related to biodiversity conservation and climate change in Armenia.

Staff and students in the Life Sciences Department of the University of the West Indies, St.Augustine, undertake a wide variety of research on biodiversity ranging from surveys of rocky shores to seagrass beds to studies on species from epiphytes to spiders. The Zoology Museum gives tours to promote awareness of biodiversity to students of all ages, and along with the National Herbarium provides an identification resource for the huge variety of Trinidad and Tobago’s wildlife.

The Spanish Network of Genebanks for Wild Plants (REDBAG) consists of 13 institutes which currently store 25,611 accessions representing 5,148 taxa of Spanish wild flora. It coordinates seed conservation activities, shares working protocols, develops and applies protocols for the management and distribution of plant germplasm, and cooperates in the training of technicians for management and research in relation to seed banks.
