World Conservation Congress in Barcelona

> 15 September 08

From 5 to 14 October, Barcelona (Spain) will host the World Conservation Congress, the largest international event on nature conservation. Held every four years, the Congress aims to improve how we manage our natural environment for human, social and economic development.

Countdown 2010 will be present with several side events:

In addition, on 9th October at the Natural History Museum of Barcelona, Countdown 2010 will hold a workshop on “Lost friends, hidden treasures“, an outdoor photographic exhibition featuring 100 photographs of animals that could once be found in Europe, but are now extinct. The event will also see the launch of “2010 Events Calendar“ – a database containing all events dedicated to biodiversity taking place in 2010.

The Countdown 2010 Secretariat has also developed a guide for the WCC events related to biodiversity and the 2010 target.
