Active youth of Europe
Students coming from many differnet European countries come together to save biodiversity. AEGEE, the European Students’ Forum” signed the Countdown 2010 declaration in front of an attentive enthousiastic audience collected in Aachen, Germany. Laure Onidi signed the Declaration on behalf of the AEGEE central office in Brussels, while Jennifer Palumbo represented the Countdown 2010 team.
The students in the audience had just spent several days together and they came together in Aachen to present the results of the project Changing Climate – Changing People?. Their enthousiasm was palpable as they worked on their own answers to the global challenges that await them.
“We are particularly happy to engage youth groups in the initiative,”commented Sebastian Winkler, Head of Countdown 2010. “Young people are key stakeholders in the way towards 2010 and beyond and it is crucial that they are involved in the decision process from an early stage.”
