Artists celebrate life and its diversity
3 June 2010, Haacht (Belgium). To celebrate World Environment Day, Art Cézar will welcome visitors to a two-day event on 5 and 6 June. The exhibition Survive!, and the sales-expo UPCYCLE festival will be presented. Ignace Schops, Countdown 2010 Ambassador, will open the event by presenting the Countdown 2010 initiative of which Art Cézar is a partner. The goal of the event is to inspire society to take action in saving biodiversity, solving global warming, and respecting nature.
Survive! will guide visitors through a visual journey about biodiversity and current concerns. By showcasing efforts to fight global warming, celebrating the beauty of life on planet Earth, but also expressing the fear to lose it, the exhibition will try to raise hope and trigger action for biodiversity conservation. Survive! will host installations, sculptures and images made by professional and international exhibiting artists Marc Janssens, Raf Veulemans and Elke Matthijs.
The UPCYCLE festival will give an opportunity to purchase different upcycled and recyclable objects made of waste materials, useless products and found goods. These include handbags made from old leather jackets, jewelry made from old china, pizza-oven built from old cabinet doors, and much more.
