Civil Society Survey on the 2010 biodiversity target

The Countdown 2010 Readiness Assessment assists countries in reviewing progress towards the 2010 biodiversity target. By carrying out this assessment we hope to help countries in disseminating information on their good practices and success stories in implementing biodiversity-friendly policies. This tool complements other processes, such as the 2010 Biodiversity Indicators Partnership (2010BIP), the Global Biodiversity Outlook or SEBI2010. The results of Countdown 2010 Readiness Assessment will be presented at IUCN World Conservation Congress in Barcelona in October.

In order to obtain a more comprehensive review of countries’ achievements, the Countdown Secretariat has launched a civil society survey that is now available online. Anybody who wants to contribute to assessing their country’s performance is invited to take part in this survey until October 2008. We look forward to your input
