07 November 2008, Brussels. Regional development and benefits from the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas is the topic of an information event that is organised as part of the European CharterNet project in Brussels on the 9th of December 2008 at the regional office of the Euroregion of the Mediterranean Alps. The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas is a practical management tool that helps protected areas to continuously improve the sustainable tourism development implementing activities that are ecologically, economically and socially balanced. The Charter has been successfully implemented for ten years, strengthening the link between people and nature. The seminar not only gives an introduction to the European Charter but also highlights case studies from Charter protected areas.
