Run to mitigate climate changes and help biodiversity!
3 July 2009, Portugal. The Forum Florestal, a federal structure of the Portuguese Forest has developed a number of initiatives to promote the communication and the importance of biodiversity in Mediterranean ecosystems in the framework of their commitment to the 2010 Target. These initiatives also aim to educate society about the importance of private forest management (85% of national forest area) and their certification, and of the maintenance and conservation of protected species.
In particular, the Forum Florestal launched the initiative CorrAC (Race for climate change mitigation and biodiversity) which is an information and awareness campaign aimed at involving people in the recovery of certain forest habitats that are critical for certain species. The races will be organized in several emblematic areas of the country.
The aim of the initiative is:
- Contribute to the rehabilitation of habitats of protected species in Portugal in a free-carbon and full of energy action!
- 100% of the profit raised will be invested in habitat recovery projects
- 0% of carbon emissions
- 100% of well-being and good mood
Did you know?
