A: Biodiversity-related responsibility schemes
This workshop will look at the opportunities and challenges of integrating biodiversity objectives into responsibility schemes which address such issues as corporate social responsibility, strategic environmental assessment, social and environmental accreditation and labeling, socially responsible investment and corporate philanthropy. What can the EU do to mainstream biodiversity into corporate responsibility schemes?

B: Business-related biodiversity assessments
This workshop will explore the challenges and opportunities of developing biodiversity targets, performance indicators and assessment methodologies for measuring the biodiversity impacts of business. It will cover such topics as corporate biodiversity assessments, industry-wide biodiversity assessments, landscape-level biodiversity assessments and accountability and reporting. What can the EU do to strengthen methods and tools for biodiversity assessments?
Nigel Winser, CEO of Earthwatch Institute Europe, Oxford, will be the element of continuity and co-chair of these workshop sessions.
