BYSE 2010

Welcome to BYSE 2010, the Biodiversity Year Schedule of Events for 2010!

The Edit Public Awareness team and Countdown 2010 have cooperated to create BYSE 2010, which is a search tool to find all events happening during the International Year of Biodiversity and beyond. The calendar contains all biodiversity-related activities scheduled for 2010 organized by museums, zoos, science centres, research institutes, NGOs, local and national governments, businesses, etc. from all over the world!
Possible events include: temporary exhibitions, galleries openings, seminars, workshops, expeditions, educational activities,... or any other raising-awareness activity promoting biodiversity knowledge and conservation, and modern taxonomy.

Search for an event

Do you want to know what activities are planned for 2010?
With BYSE 2010 you can search for an event by date, country, title or organizer. Just enter your search criteria in the boxes below!

BYSE 2010 is not only a search tool. You can promote your own events and initiatives for the International Year of Biodiversity through this calendar.

How to add your event to the calendar?
It's easy! Download the pdf-file (Adobe Reader 8.0 or higher is required), fill it in and send it back to edit-PA@naturalsciences.be. Please note that your event will not appear automatically in the list; a moderator will approve your entry and publish it online.

We hope you enjoy it!

Garden Detectives

What lurks at the bottom of your garden ? Delve into hedges, take a peek in our shed and unearth wonders from our flower beds and pond. Explore habitats, study food chains, track animals and discover what they get up to while you’re asleep! Inspired by the work of Charles Darwin on his 200th birthday, Squelch turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. Take a larger-than-life look at plants and flowers, learn fascinating facts about nature and experience all the sounds and smells of a real garden without getting your hands dirty. With interactive exhibits and real live specimens, this is your chance to be a natural detective. Take home new skills and investigate your own garden or local environment. Darwin200 is a national programme of events celebrating Charles Darwin’s scientific ideas and their impact on society.
