Commitments:
The Devon Karst Reseach Society commits to continue its Hypogean Species & Habitat Protection & Conservation Program in the Dinaric Karst of Eastern Herzegovina (Bosnia & Herzegovina) undertaken with organization’s local partner group, to help provide a long-term sustainable future for the karst conduit-aquifer ecosystems containing rare, vulnerable and highly-endangered hypogean species endemic and often unique to this region. In 2010 The Devon Karst Reseach Society will also publish an example monography to demonstrate typical problems of ecosystems in this area and to illustrate how they are addressed. Finally, organization will attempt to work with local and national governments in Bosnia&Herzegovina in achieving a permanent Statutory State Protection mechanism for such highly vulnerable ecosystems for the future.Contact
