All Partners are expected to actively promote the network and contribute with actions towards reaching the 2010 Biodiversity Target. To help Partners in their efforts, the Countdown 2010 Secretariat benefits from the invaluable help of a number of committed individuals who serve as Countdown 2010 Focal Points in their country.

Countdown 2010 Focal Points:

• represent Countdown 2010 at national level and thus are the first point of contact for Partners and interested organisations in their country;
• are the first point of contact for the Countdown 2010 Secretariat at country level and therefore report on Partners’ progress towards the 2010 Target.

In addition, Focal Points work to strengthen the Countdown 2010 network in their country by translating material into local languages, recruiting additional Partners and helping Partners to make their commitments a success. A good Focal Point helps to connect and motivate Partners ,and delegates necessary work. The contact details of each Focal Point are published below. Focal Points are also present for Countdown 2010 Multiregional Hubs and for each Partner Category.
